My First Tag!

Since I've been in the blogging world, I've read about others being tagged and really thought that it was neat to play this online game. Well, a fabulous planner (and my soror) Kawania tagged me. So, as I prepare to travel back home to Arkansas from Houston-I'm going to sit and wait to depart and share my 5 tidbits with you. Here are the rules:

1.) Link to the person that tagged you, and post the rules on your Blog.
2.) Share five (5) songs you are embarrassed to admit to others you like and tell why.
3.) Tag 7 random people at the end of your post and include links to their blogs.
4.) Let each person know that they have been tagged by leaving a comment on their Blog.

Well, here goes:
1. She's a Brickhouse (The Commadores)-that's right! Although I wasn't born when this song came out it was destined to be my theme song. Oh when Big Daddy here's that song, he knows Queen Bee is being pumped up for a great day of fabulousity.

2. Crazy In Love (Beyonce)-particularly for the booty-shake dance! I absolutely love this song and probably will always love this song.

3. Let's Get It On (Marvin Gaye)-a special song for Big Daddy+Queen Bee! Both of our sets of parents are old skool-so this was one of the songs we were used to hearing while growing up.

4. Proud Mary (Tina Turner)-great dancing song! When I was in college, I was a Golden Girl-a dancer for the Marching Band. If you're from the South and familiar with HBCU college life, you'll know that a major part of HBCU college football is the halftime show...and the dancers!!! My first performance was to Tina Turner's Proud Mary and we incorporated her famous moves into our routine. How do you think Big Daddy came my way?! At that time, he was Running Back for our college team. To this day, I still blast my Tina Turner-my back hurts middle way through the routine and I can't breathe for half an hour but I get through it.

5. Give It To Me Baby (Rick James)-again another favorite Golden Girl moment. Now, this is really when Big Daddy took a peak at me during half-time (in college) right before they got back onto the field. During this dance, we had male partners to throw us around and the crowd cheered loudly. This game was in Baton Rouge, LA and was definitely a memorable one.

I'm not really embarrassed by my favorite 5 although the list is actually longer and probably consists of songs from every decade. I have each of these songs on my MP3 player and listened to them while traveling here to Houston. They all mean something to me (in their own quirky way). Well, now it's time to pass the tag baton to some other fabulous ladies, so here goes:

Tabitha at Elite Bridal Concierge

Emeka at Cupcake Cutie, Etc.

Liene at Blue Orchid Designs

Lisa at Blush Events

Have fun!

  1. Oh, my! I did not even think to mention "Proud Mary" by Tina and Ike Turner as one of my all time favorite songs. Girl, I love this song. In fact, I own one of Tina and Ike's old soundtracks. It has the original "Proud Mary" and "Nutbush" on there. Definitely, well beyond my time, but I love it!
